Amanda weingarten

Amanda Weingarten is a dynamic leader with over two decades of experience in nonprofit management, fundraising, and communications. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in History of Art and Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania and has specialized in building high-impact, sustainable programs across a variety of sectors including international aid, higher education, civil rights, and healthcare.

In her most recent role as Chief of External Affairs at the International Crisis Group (2020-2024), Amanda led a global team of 28 and increased revenue by 40% over four years. She was responsible for managing relationships with top-level stakeholders, including trustees, foundations, government and multilaterals, ultra-high-net-worth individuals and establishing innovative fundraising, communications and impact tracking systems.

Prior to her time at the Crisis Group, Amanda served as Senior Consultant at Graham-Pelton (2017-2020), where she advised nonprofits on strategic planning, campaign strategy, change management, and board relations. Her clients included the International Rescue Committee, UnidosUS (previously named National Council of La Raza), The New School, Jewish Theological Seminary, and Swedish Medical Center Foundation, and others. 

Earlier in her career, she held key roles at academic institutions such as The Citadel and the College of Charleston, where she spearheaded major fundraising campaigns and initiatives that drove significant growth in alumni engagement and revenue.

Amanda has been a thought leader in the field, with published works and presentations on topics like burnout prevention and performance improvement, philanthropy strategy, and nonprofit management. She holds a Korn Ferry TalentQ Administrator certification and serves on the Board of Advisors for the University of Pennsylvania's Learning Resource Center. Amanda grew up in London, and lived in Paris, Quito, and New York – where she now resides.
